Nate Silver's FiveThirtyEight announce two short film series09 Sep 2014
ESPN films and FiveThirtyEight are launching two new series of shorts. The films will draw on Nate Silver’s sites data driven approach, and will focus on sports but also a spectrum of other areas.
The first series is called ‘Signals’. It’s first film ‘Man vs Machine’ is directed by Frank Marshall and looks at Gary Kasparov’s match against IBM’s Deep Blue computer - a subject Silver has written about in his book. It will launch on www.fivethirtyeight.com on October 22nd.
The second series which sounds fascinating is entitled ‘The Collectors’, and will tell the stories of professional statisticians. The first of this series will air first on December 10th with 9 further episodes appearing ever three or four weeks.
